The Project
A £3.1 million scheme to improve safety on the A52 between Bottesford and Barrowby commenced on 21st July 2008 and was completed in October 2008.
Partial reconstruction and full resurfacing work was carried out on the 4.1km stretch of the A52 between Sedgebrook (Village Street) and Barrowby (A52/A1 Southbound entry slip road). The scheme also included kerbing work, footpath reconstruction, drainage improvements, signing works, lighting improvements and ditch clearance.
In order to limit the level of disruption and maximise the use of traffic management, concrete and joint repair work was also carried out on the A52 at Bottesford. .
The scheme was necessary to ensure the continued safe provision of the A52 and avoid the need for unplanned emergency repairs. Roadusers will now benefit from a smoother and quieter ride.
