Highlights of 2001-02
During 2001-02 we:

Delivered all but one of our Ministerial Targets, including completion of 30 Early Action Schemes1. - Published our Procurement Strategy in November 2001.
- Achieved 10-Year Plan targets for the implementation of new electronic systems to monitor the state of the Strategic Road Network.
- Our response to the Government's 10-Year Plan for Transport 'Strategic Roads 2010' recommended by the parliamentary Transport Committee as a model for forward planning on how to deliver the 10-Year Plan.
- Launched the Video Information Highway (VIH) trial on our website using images from CCTV cameras in Avon and the South West.
- Carried out 99.6% of maintenance work outside of peak hours.
- Equipped an extra 243km of motorway with the Motorway Incident Detection and Automatic Signalling (MIDAS) congestion early warning system.
- Published our Biodiversity Action Plan in March 2002.
- Were nominated for the 2002 Computing Industry Awards for our M25 CCTV enhancement project.
