Welcome to the new Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Bulletin.  This is the primary method for the dissemination of information from the Post-Incident Cold debrief process.

Chemical Factories

The strategic road network is adjacent to many COMAH sites which have the potential to close major disruption should an accident occur. We look into how the Highways Agency plans with its stakeholders to mitigate this risk.

Roadworks

The TIM team has recently attended two cold debriefs which have highlighted the issues associated with the roles and responsibilities of service providers and the Traffic Officer Service within long-term roadworks. We discuss the issues in greater detail and how multi-agency planning can assist.

Flooding on the Network

Following the flooding in summer 2007, the Pitt Review recommended the Highways Agency 'should consider the vulnerability of its network to flooding and prepare suitable measures to reduce the effects on road users'. We feature the work which has been carried with the service provider community to date.
