Traffic management support for events

Don’t let traffic spoil your event

First impressions count

The success of an event is not judged by the event alone but also by how easy or difficult it is to get to and from the venue. We can help you by offering a number of services that can assist in minimising event-related congestion and incidents - ensuring safe roads, reliable journeys and informed travellers. Did you know the National Traffic Control Centre monitors traffic and provides real-time information to travellers on England’s motorways and major A-roads 24/7?

How can we help you with event planning?

We are the traffic information experts and can assist you with major event planning. Below are the services we can provide for FREE :

  • Contribute to your traffic management plan, providing both strategic and practical help (e.g. Approach route planning, provision of traffic information services, coordination with Traffic Officers)
  • Use our electronic road side message signs to advise motorists of upcoming major events that may affect their journey
  • Attend/support traffic management meetings with Police, Local Authorities, etc.
  • Inform you of other known events in your area. We can provide you with information on incidents near your venue to ensure your visitors have a safe journey home.
  • Use electronic roadside message signs to manage traffic on event day(s)1
  • Provide historic traffic data for event planning purposes2

1The use of electronic roadside message signs for event signing is only for traffic management purposes, not event promotion. This is subject to strict criteria and approval on a case-by-case basis. Signs are installed only at selected strategic locations and do not cover all of England’s motorways and A-road network. Safety-related incident messages have priority over event signing.

2Provision of historic traffic data is subject to approval.
