Check traffic before you travel...
What is Traffic England?
Traffic England is a website and an automated telephone service that provides current and future traffic conditions on England’s motorways and major A-roads. This information is brought to you directly from the National Traffic Control Centre whose operators collect and analyse data from thousands of road-side traffic sensors and over 250 partner organisations.
What information is available?
The following live and future traffic conditions can be viewed through an interactive map on the Traffic England website:
- Live Journey Delays Live Roadside Message Signs
- Current Events & Incidents Future Events
- Live Roadworks Future Roadworks
- Weather
In addition, you can now look at all of the current incident, roadworks, event, average speed and message sign information for a particular motorway on a new graphical page. Go to the "Event Information" menu tab and select “Current Motorway Information”. From this page you will be able to select any motorway and the level of detail you wish to view by clicking on the appropriate checkboxes.
