Incident Lighting

February 2007

The Traffic Incident Management Team are keen to find new equipment that can assist incident management procedures with the long term vision of safer more efficient practices and improved incident clearance times.

Below we preview two products that have been recognised as beneficial through the post incident cold debrief process.  Incident lighting can be an extremely important useful tool to aid the reduction in incident clearance times and improve visibility at incident scenes, therefore improving safety.

The key criteria for lighting units is as follows:

  • glare-free light
  • quick and easy to assemble
  • easily transportable

The products featured in the links below have been piloted on the motorway network and contain the views of personnel that have successfully used them.
