Highways Agency Toolkits

Ginny Clarke, Network Services DirectorWelcome to the Network Services (NetServ) Directorate's Toolkits homepage - a collection of advice for use by those within the Agency, our service providers and stakeholders.

The Journey Time Reliability, Managing Down Cost Pressures and Health and Safety toolkits are a knowledge bank of ideas that range from the well established to the innovative. In some cases ideas may need to be taken forward as part of a trial or Departures from Standards may be required.  For the Journey Time Reliability and Managing Down Costs toolkits, a named specialist owns each idea within the toolkits, and will be happy to explore the suitability and applicability of the idea to your particular scheme. Each sheet for these toolkits provides a clear description of the idea, coupled with:

  • Examples of the idea being used, either in the UK or elsewhere.
  • Advice on applicability and deliverability.
  • Essential references.
  • Contact details for the Idea Owner.

The Health and Safety toolkit contains an overview of the idea, as well as technical information and a key features box. If you have any questions about this toolkit, please email healthandsafetytoolkit@highways.gsi.gov.uk and a member of the health and safety team will help you with your enquiry.

Your suggestions for new ideas for consideration for inclusion in the toolkits are welcome as is any feedback on the system. I hope that you find the toolkits useful.
