Collision Investigation Equipment Correction Service Renewal
Gina Lawrence Jaz Ujjal £147,507.70 December 2010 Awarded 10/01/2011 Contract runs from 11/01/2011 until 11/01/2014 The Highways Agency has purchased and loaned surveying equipment to assist Collision Investigators in reducing time taken to carry out investigations. RTK is the technique used by Police in surveying which is based on the use of carrier phase measurements of the GPS, GLONASS and/or Galileo Signals where a single reference station provides the real-time correction.
A correction service allows police to use the loan equipment without a base station significantly reducing the time taken to set up and reduces the time taken to carry out their investigation.
To allow police forces to gain the full benefits of the loan GPS equipment and to continue to benefit from the correction service a total of 85 licenses were required.
