Considerate Constructors Scheme
Helping Create Friendlier Construction Sites

The Highways Agency has become a founder Client Associate Member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, a not for profit initiative within the construction industry which aims to improve the public image of construction sites.
We want to ensure our construction sites give customers the best possible image of what we do and how. We are committed together with our contractors in the scheme to an eight point Code of Considerate Practice designed to help minimise the impact of sites upon the surrounding environment and the public.
We have already seen success for a number of our projects recognised at the scheme's annual awards - the A34 Chieveley/M4 J13 Improvement and A63 Selby Bypass amongst those scoring highly when put to the test over recent years.
We now have our Client Associate Membership, launched to reflect how clients as well as contractors are committed to better management and presentation of construction sites.
