British Grand Prix
The 2008 British Grand Prix is held at Silverstone between Friday 4th July - Sunday 6th July. It is a hugely popular event and managing the vast amounts of traffic in and out of the event over the three days to ensure safety and minimise disruption is a massive undertaking.
To achieve this, we have formed a successful partnership with the British Racing Drivers' Club, Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Police, Silverstone Circuits Ltd, South Northamptonshire Council, and the Government Office for the East Midlands. Known as the British Grand Prix Inter Agency Group, we have been working together for over six years and hope that our continued partnership will help keep traffic disruption and delays to a minimum.
Leaflets have been published with details of local Traffic Management and details of the A43 closure and diversion routes in place during the Grand Prix. They are available below as web pages and for download as PDFs.
We hope this information is helpful in highlighting the diversion routes and helping you plan your journeys throughout the event.
