Divisional Commercial Manager

Divisional Commercial Manager

  • £41,933 - £49,849 + benefits
  • Manchester/Leeds, Bedford/Dorking & Birmingham

As we strive to achieve world-class standards of commercial and project management, we need a Divisional Commercial Manager who can help change and improve practices across Major Projects for the long term.  Specifically you will be advising project teams on the planning, cost estimating, contractual and commercial aspects of projects.

Throughout this process, you will be feeding back information to the Commercial Director and the Commercial team to make sure we keep moving forward as a group and as a business.

Working with a wide group of stakeholders and regional project teams, you will provide expertise, guidance and support across the full commercial spectrum.

One moment you could be assisting a project team in negotiating target costs with suppliers and alerting senior managers to budget issues; the next you could be mentoring project managers on best commercial practice or providing feedback and recommending action to improve commercial management across the business.

You will sit at the very heart of our commercial change management – and that will see you involved in many key projects and initiatives.  So we need a highly talented Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience of working on supply chain projects for roads.

You will have strong estimating expertise, and you will also have some experience of New Engineering Contract (NEC).
