£41,933 + benefits - Birmingham

As comfortable leading a portfolio of projects as you are leading a single major one, you will confidently deliver a range of business plan targets. As you manage team and supplier performance to budget, you must always ensure value for the taxpayers’ money as you deliver projects to the value of £300m with an annual spend of £80m.

You will bring greater commercial awareness to this team while increasing the emphasis on value and affordability. With a wealth of experience, you will successfully line manage a number of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, as well as ensuring skills are successfully transferred and that the team is developed effectively.

Delivering agreed Business Plan and Scorecard targets, you must be able to apply governance procedures correctly and ensure that all financial and non-financial approval processes are fully complied with. Building and managing relationships with internal and external suppliers, you must be able to utilise PPM techniques across a range of projects.

Educated to degree level, you must be able to call on your extensive knowledge of managing major, complex infrastructure projects and your experience of the construction industry. Obviously you are going to need project management skills of the highest order, but you must also have strong commercial, negotiating and communication skills.
