Manager for Major Projects, Centre of Excellence

£28,356 + benefits Birmingham

Our Centre of Excellence will be key to successfully maintaining and improving the safety and reliability of the strategic road network in England. We are currently investing £11billion in large, complex projects and our Centre of Excellence will at the heart of these aims by providing the support to enable world-class delivery.

Contributing to the roll out of Project and Programme Management (PPM) across the Major Projects Directorate, you will be pivotal to the improvement of skills in your sector. Managing the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) programme across Major Projects, you will act as brand protector for the OGC Gateway process and be the first port of call for any related enquiries.

As you establish best practise across the Major Projects, you will encourage continuous improvement and provide training as you improve efficiency and effectiveness. Your work will enable Major Projects to ensure that the right people are in the right place at the right time to make every project the most efficient it can possibly be.

A natural manager, leader and strategic thinker, we need you to have extensive knowledge of Project Management including PPM tools and techniques and experience of applying these in previous roles. Able to make evidence based decisions, you must have a track record of developing productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to affect positive change.
