Delivering the Goods
Our graduates are highly respected throughout the organisation, not least because we always pick people who are prepared to roll up their sleeves, get involved in the business and put the effort in to get things done.
We ask a lot, but we offer a great deal in return, beginning with an excellent starting salary of £19,883 rising to £20,432 in September 2010. The benefits are generous too, designed to offer flexibility, security and plenty of holiday allowance to help you recharge your batteries and enjoy a full life outside work. Here's what you can look forward to:
- 30 days annual leave (plus a further 10½ days of bank holidays and privilege days)
- Choice of civil service pensions
- Flexible working hours (37 hours per week)
- Leadership workshops and training opportunities
- Mentor from senior management
- Graduate 'Buddy'
- A professional coach giving comprehensive feedback
- Self-development resources through the Learning & Development Directory
- Opportunities for secondments and placements in the private and public sectors
- For engineers - study support and professional guidance from chartered engineers to help you gain Chartered Status
Salaries don't mean everything but they give an indication of the level of responsibility successful graduates will take on:
- Generalists at the end of 2 years will have the opportunity to be interviewed for a job worth £25,305*
- Engineers at the end of 3 years will have the opportunity to be interviewed for a job worth £ 30,242*
* Salaries as at 2010 rates
