Our Graduate Scheme

Graduate Leadership Development Scheme

The 2008 Graduate Schemes

Our 2008 Engineering and Generalist Graduate Scheme is now closed.

The deadline for the 2008 Graduate Scheme has now passed. To find out more about Graduate Recruitment at the Highways Agency please see below and explore the links to the right.  Details of our 2009 Graduate Scheme will be posted on this website nearer the time.

About the scheme

The Highways Agency runs three Graduate Leadership Development Schemes: one for Engineering (civil or electrical engineering) graduates and two for graduates of any degree subject; our Generalist, and our Accounting Schemes.

All schemes are placement based, so if successful you would have the opportunity to work in several of our business areas.

In addition to placements we also provide extensive support and training to develop and nurture your leadership potential, and both engineering graduates and those on our Accounting Scheme will be supported to achieve chartered status.

As well as gaining an enormous breadth of hands-on experience, you will have a range of more formal development opportunities, including specific training courses, coaching, job shadowing and mentoring.
