M62 - Your Local History

A lot of finds were uncovered during the archaeological evaluation carried out for the M62 Junction 6 Improvement scheme so we thought it would be nice to provide an interactive website so you can see what we found.

Don't Cross or Walk Along Motorways

The Highways Agency aims to make more people aware of the dangers of walking or crossing our motorway. We have launched a poster and radio campaign aimed at 16-25yr olds. Hopefully with our hard hitting posters, our message will come across.

Bidders Event held in Birmingham

Bidders Event held in Birmingham

On Wednesday 6th June, we held a communications event as part of the procurement process for the role of National Vehicle Recovery Manager (NVRM).

The purpose of the event was to provide further information on the procurement to prospective participants to assist in deciding whether and how to participate in the procurement, and to answer any questions about the procurement.

The presentations on the day covered the following:

  • The background to the Highways Agency.
  • What the National Vehicle Recovery Project (NVRP) is about.
  • Our strategy and vision for the future of vehicle recovery.
  • An overview of the NVRM requirements, including performance management, and the promotion of equality and diversity.
  • The process that we will be using to procure the NRVM.
  • An indicative timetable explaining the milestones and activities that will be involved in that process.

This was followed by a Question and Answer session.

The event was well attended by a range of organisations and we would like to thank all those who were able to attend on the day.

Attendance at the event was not mandatory for those wishing to express an interest in the procurement and copies of the presentation, together with the questions and answers given are available by sending an email to: TrafficOfficerProcurement@highways.gsi.gov.uk

Full details of what to do to participate in this procurement are included in our OJEU notice (see May 2007 update). The deadline for expressing an interest in this procurement is 28 June 2007 and the completed Pre-Participation Questionnaire (PPQ) must be returned by no later than Monday 2nd July 2007.
