Other Department For Transport Agencies

As well as the Highways Agency, there are other agencies within the Department for Transport that provide different services, help with law enforcement and improve road safety.

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)

  • Driving licence
  • Vehicle registration documents
  • Car tax (vehicle excise duty).

Driving Standards Agency (DSA)

  • Driving tests - practical and theory
  • Keeps register of approved driving instructors
  • Pass Plus training courses.

Vehicle and Operators Services Agency (VOSA)

  • MOT tests
  • Testing/enforcing roadworthiness standards
  • Lorry, van, bus and coach licences.
