National Vehicle Recovery Manager contract awarded
National Vehicle Recovery Manager contract awarded
On the 1st October 2008, FMG Support was awarded the Highways Agency's National Vehicle Recovery Manager (NVRM) contract.
Our NVRM will support the Highways Agency traffic officer service in dealing with abandoned and broken down vehicles posing a danger to other road users on the Strategic Road Network. The NVRM will be responsible for the end-to-end managed vehicle recovery service, including supply partners (vehicle recovery operators), who will handle all aspects of recovering and removing vehicles from our roads.
A three month mobilisation period, and traffic officer training in the use and application of the new removal powers, which are expected to come into force shortly, will follow in readiness for the first regional go-live during January 2009.
We would like to thank all our partners who have worked with us to help reach this milestone.
