Road Worker Safety - Respect Our Road Workers
Background
Every year road workers are killed and injured on the nations roads while doing their job to try and keep the nation going and improve the facilities we have, if it is from a safety scheme, cutting the verge or replacing a burst pipe these jobs are all essential to help improve the standard of life of the whole population. Industry can look to improve procedures and use new technology to improve the safety of the road work force. Driver behaviour also plays a large part in improving road worker safety. In addition to the noticeable safety issues with regards to speeding and dangerous driving at road works there is the additional aspect of abuse, both verbal and physical including the throwing of missiles and threats of assault.
This resource looks to supply a suite of material that can be used to raise awareness of the issues and encourage drivers to alter their behaviour and respect road workers for the work they do.
For a list of media resources and printed materials please see the 'Resources' and 'Printed Material' pages.
