The Highways Agency aims to make more people aware of the dangers of walking or crossing our motorway. We have launched a poster and radio campaign aimed at 16-25yr olds. Hopefully with our hard hitting posters, our message will come across.

National Vehicle Recovery Service goes live in the East

Following a 3 month mobilisation and implementation period, the National Vehicle Recovery Service has been launched in the East Regional Control Centre region.

On Thursday 29 January 2009, Traffic Officers started using their new removal and disposal powers, and the National Vehicle Recovery Manager contract.

Traffic Officers in the East are now able to deal end to end with incidents outside of police interest, to help them keep traffic moving safely.  This leads the way for the roll out across the country, which will be complete in Summer 2009.
