National Vehicle Recovery Service goes live in the North East

On Tuesday 30 June 2009, new removal and disposal powers, and the National Vehicle Recovery Manager contract went live in the North East Regional Control Centre region. Traffic Officers in the North East can now deal end to end with incidents outside of police interest.

The second region to go live during June 09, the North East marks the sixth region to go live in the roll out programme. The last region, East Midlands, goes live at the end of July 09.
