It is designed to help you easily navigate through the projects and link research to outcomes, and to provide detail on the new four year  Research Strategy and two year Knowledge Programme. In addition you will find information regarding the roles of the groups delivering the programme.

The main enhancements include:

The new four year Research Strategy, 2010-2014, identifies the Agency’s operational and business needs. The two year Knowledge Programme, developed from the Research Strategy, comprises of currently 15 portfolios each with stated outputs and outcomes, that contain projects designed to fulfil the particular knowledge needs of the Agency. Details of the Research Strategy and the Knowledge Programme are provided, with information regarding the roles of the groups delivering the programme.

As well as details of the current Knowledge Programme you can find past research projects carried out by the Highways Agency since 2002, and information on Previous Strategies.

Search for past and present research, browsing by Portfolio in the current and previous programmes, by Topic using the list on the Topics page or by using the search box at the top of the page. Generic searches can be done by using keyword(s) or for a specific project, use the project title or reference number where known.
