To develop standards, guidance and operational procedures in support of delivery of the Managed Motorways programme, consisting of the roll out of 15 hard shoulder running schemes by 2014, and to identify potential future directions of Managed Motorways post 2014 based on emerging technologies, operational and user requirements.
