Don't Cross or Walk Along Motorways

The Highways Agency aims to make more people aware of the dangers of walking or crossing our motorway. We have launched a poster and radio campaign aimed at 16-25yr olds. Hopefully with our hard hitting posters, our message will come across.

Knowledge Compendium Award

An initiative from the Highways Agency has delivered improvements to, and efficiencies in, their R&D programme.

The Knowledge Programme was introduced in April 2009, and uses an innovative approach which brings together members of the supply chain in collaboration to deliver a more strategic approach to the Agency's £30m annual investment in research and technical consultancy.

The two-year Knowledge Programme is guided by the new four-year research strategy and is delivered through portfolios of work with measureable outcomes. These are driven by the business needs of the Agency business plan ensuring a more efficient way of working and strengthening the programme's project management principles.

Julie Prince, Project Sponsor for the Network Services Directorate, said:
“Not only has working collaboratively enabled us to meet objectives, but it has also helped our suppliers to work in a more efficient manner”.
