Twenty-six sets of roadworks are being suspended for the Christmas and New Year holiday to help drivers.

Twenty-two sets of roadworks have already been completed before the holiday begins. New roadworks, except emergencies, will not start until after the holiday.

The roadworks will be removed from 6am on Friday 22 December until 1am on 2 January.

The road works which remain for the holiday are being kept in place for safety reasons.

FOR SAFETY REASONS, THE FOLLOWING ROADWORKS WILL REMAIN. TOTAL 35 SCHEMES REMAINING (57.18 miles)

SOUTH EAST

A2 Darenth

Widening and bridge construction. Open excavations, speed limit reduced to 50mph for safety, slight delay expected.

A50/B5029 Interchange

Bridge Inspection of damage to Grindley bridge following collision of a high vehicle, which caused serious structural damage in 2005. A50 westbound closed for 2 hours on 24/12 and 2 hours on 31/12 only. Diversion is up and over interchange. Continued structural inspection required to assess the damage to bridge. Slight delays expected.

At Dumbell roundabout lane closures on lane 2 westbound approach. Lane 1 eastbound exit from Innis Down, at both dumbells, single lane running. On the new bypass there is a contraflow, with east and westbound lane closures. Speed reduced to 40mph for safety. Slight delay expected.
