M25 Jct 19 - Traffic Management Trial

5th December 2007

M25 Jct 19 - Traffic Management Trial

"The Highways Agency is always looking for ways to improve the management of its strategic road network, including ways of reducing congestion and improving journey time reliability. This can include carrying out trials on our network for different types of traffic management or changes to the layout of a road/junction.

"The arrangement at junction 19 of the M25 looked promising, but a trial was needed to assess its impact on the road network.

"The Agency consulted with local residents, Hertfordshire County Council and elected members and surveyed the opinions of a wide range of road users. This information, together with the traffic data, was presented to the Minister. Based on all the evidence and the opinions of those consulted, the decision has been taken to remove the trial."
