A14 Web Chat

Welcome to the A14 web chat page.

The second and final web chat will take place from 4pm to 5pm on Wednesday 4 June and we’ll be here to answer your questions, live, about the proposed scheme. If you are unable to attend but have a question for us, please email A14CambridgeHuntingdon@highways.gsi.gov.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.

The existing A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon is well known for congestion and delays. Almost 85,000 vehicles use this stretch of the A14 every day, which is significantly more than the level originally designed for.

On 7 April 2014, the Highways Agency opened a ten week consultation for the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme, which aims to:

  • relieve traffic congestion
  • unlock local economic growth
  • enhance national economic growth
  • connect communities
  • improve the environment
  • improve safety and reduce driver stress
  • improve the environment in Huntingdon
  • create a positive legacy for the region

To help inform you about the proposed scheme, the Highways Agency will be hosting web chats here from 1pm to 2pm, Tuesday 29 April and from 4pm to 5pm on Wednesday 4 June. All you need to do to get involved in the live web chat is register your email address. If you would like to submit a question in advance of the web chat, please email A14CambridgeHuntingdon@highways.gsi.gov.uk with the subject heading ‘A14 web chat’.  Please take a moment to look at our house rules .

Ahead of the web chats, the following documents may provide answers to any questions you may have:

Please note that questions and comments submitted as part of the web chat will not be considered to form part of the consultation.

The consultation is open until Sunday 15 June. Details on how and where we are consulting can be found in the Statement of Community Consultation. To contribute to the consultation, please complete a questionnaire.
