Weather Watch
Friday evening and overnight:
Easternmost areas are likely to see a few snow showers this evening, with a slight covering likely in East Anglia and Kent. Elsewhere it will be another dry and bitterly cold night with a severe frost in clearer parts of central and northern England.
Saturday:
A very cold but dry and bright start everywhere. Thicker cloud will bring rain to the west by midday. As this moves inland it will readily turn to snow across all but Devon and Cornwall. By the end of the afternoon snow is likely to be falling across much of The Midlands and the North with significant accumulations beginning to build up in these areas and this together with reduced visibility will lead to some extremely difficult travelling conditions. Road users are strongly advised to check the latest road conditions before starting their journeys.
