House rules on HA web chats

1. Web chats are held at specific times.  We will open the site to comments / questions at the time stated for the ‘live’ chat.  We will also provide a period prior to the event to allow questions to be submitted for those people unable to make the live chat.

2. Comments and questions are moderated. The Highways Agency moderator reserves the right to edit or delete posts that do not comply with these house rules.

3. Where web chats are themed specifically to a topic we may group several questions together where they are asking the same thing.  This way we can allow more questions and avoid clogging up the system with the same questions.

4. We will not publish comments and questions that are:

  • considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others
  • are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable
  • contain swear words or other language likely to offend, break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes breach of copyright, defamation and contempt of court
  • advertise products or services for profit or gain
  • are seen to impersonate someone else
  • describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others
  • are considered to be "spam", that is posts containing the same, or similar, content posted multiple times
  • are considered to be off-topic for the online discussion
