Highways Agency Bulletin: A303 Somerset Closure due to Flooding

HIGHWAYS AGENCY News Release issued 24 December 2013

A303 in Somerset is closed in both directions near Yeovil between the A37 /
A372 (Podimore) and the A3088 (Tintinhull) due to flooding.

Highways Agency, Avon and Somerset Police and Somerset County Council are working
to re-open the route as soon as it is safe to do so and traffic
travelling from Devon and Cornwall towards London is advised to use the M5
northbound and M4 eastbound. Road users travelling from London
and the South East are advised to use the M4 westbound and M5 southbound.

traffic on the A303 will be diverted on to the A37 to Shepton Mallet, the A361
to Glastonbury then the A39 to the M5 at Junction 23 and west to Junction 25 to
the A358 at Taunton to rejoin the A303 at Ilminster. The same route applies in
reverse to eastbound traffic.
