M40

The M40 links Lon­don to the Mid­lands at Soli­hull and is 89.9 miles long.

The M40 was built in two sec­tions. Orig­i­nally it ran from Lon­don to Oxford, and this part was com­plete by 1974. In 1990 the final sec­tion which meets the M42 was opened.
