The Highways Agency is intending to dispose of the freehold interest in a small area of land adjacent to the viaduct and Number 41 Letchworth Road, Baldock, Hertfordshire, SG7 6AA. This land once formed part of former residences at number 37 and 39 acquired by Compulsory Purchase Order in 1965 and 1966.
This is to notify the previous owners, D A and M I Newbery and A Thake or their successors in title, that under the Crichel Down Rules, our interpretation is that Rule 10 exempts us from offering back the land to the former owners or their successors in title as the land has materially changed since acquisition as the original houses and gardens have been demolished.
This notification will remain on our website for a maximum period of 2 months, after which time the land will be sold. Any correspondence regarding this matter should be addressed to -
