Crichel Down Rules - Search for Former Owners or Successors
Disposal of Surplus Land being a strip of land adjoining 8 Haigh House Hill, Lindley Moor, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD3 3SZ
The Highways Agency is intending to dispose of their freehold interest in a strip of land adjoining 8 Haigh House Hill, Lindley Moor, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. This land was acquired by Compulsory Purchase Order on 23 July 1979.
This is to notify the previous owner, Ida Wood, or her successors in title, that under the Crichel Down Rules, our interpretation is that Rule 10 exempts us from offering the land back to the former owners or their successors in title as the land has materially changed since acquisition as it is now a strip of grassland adjoining the local highway.
This notification will remain on our website for a maximum period of 2 months, after which time the land will be sold. Any correspondence regarding this matter should be addressed to -
