The Project Control Framework
This framework sets out how we, together with the Department for Transport, manage and deliver major road improvement projects.
Installing Apparatus on the Highway
Utilities and various other bodies have Statutory Powers to install apparatus in a Public Highway except when the Highways is a Special Road under the Highways Act 1980 (e.g. a Motorway). Any other company or individual who wishes to install and maintain apparatus will need to apply for a Licence under Section 50 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
