Environmental Issues

Environment

The A14 Environmental Co-ordinator heads a team of environmental specialists including noise and vibration advisors, archaeologists, ecologists, water quality consultants, landscape architects, agriculture and waste management specialists.

Part of the HA's key objective is to respect the environment by mitigating the potentially adverse impact of strategic roads and to take opportunities to enhance the environment, taking into account value for money. The A14 team is assisting in integrating environmental mitigation into the development of the improvement scheme. By liaising with statutory environmental bodies, local authorities and following Highways environment procedures the A14 team are seeking to minimise potential adverse environmental impacts.

The Non-Technical Summary (NTS) describes the scheme and summarises the anticipated environmental effects as reported in the Environmental Statement. To view the NTS in full, a copy of the leaflet can be found on the publications page.
