Route Planner for Travel into Birmingham
Birmingham Route Planner
- Resurfacing work will be taking place at two locations on the M6 near Birmingham this summer. The work will be done from mid-June to December 2006 at the M6 Northbound at Junction 8 (M5 Interchange) and the M6 Southbound at Junction 5-6 (near Spaghetti Junction).
- Access from the A38 (M) Aston Expressway and Salford Circus to the M6 Southbound will be closed from early July to early September 2006, and the M6 north onto A38 (M) will be closed for the duration of the works.
- The M6 Southbound entry slip road at Junction 9 will be closed from mid-June to the end of the works.
- Occasional overnight closures of the main carriageway and various slip roads at M6 J6 and M6 Junction 8 will be required between mid-June and December 2006.
If you wish to consider a different route into Birmingham City Centre these options are available (please note that this does not guarantee that these routes will be free from traffic during the road works):
