The Project

Berry Lane Viaduct is located on the M25 between junctions 17 and 18 at Chorley Wood. The work is essential to maintain the safe condition of the structure in line with current standards.

The Highways Agency will be upgrading the existing parapet on both sides of the structure. This will make the structure safer for the travelling public, and will result in:

  • Improved safety
  • Improved resistance to vehicle impact
  • Reduced noise

Traffic Management

The works will commence on 30 May 2006 and are due to be completed by 31 October 2006. The works will take place during the hours of 05.50 and 22.00. There will be three narrow lanes running with no hard shoulder and a 40 mph temporary speed limit in both directions 24 hours a day. If required one lane running will be implemented at night.
