To repair fifteen concrete substructures at and to the North West of the M6 Motorway, Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction). This is part of the Highways Agency's ongoing maintenance and repair programme on the elevated sections of the M6 Motorway.
The Works comprise:
To ensure the safety of the general public and workforce carrying out the project, traffic management is needed on the motorway slip roads and local roads in the Thornbridge, Witton and Gravelly Hill areas.
The area of Moor Lane in Witton that runs under the M6 Motorway will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the Works. Access to all properties will be maintained throughout the duration of the works and local diversion routes will be clearly signed. Access to Brookvale Trading Estate will be maintained either via College Road or Brookvale Road. Pedestrian access along Moor Lane will be maintained at all times and temporary pedestrian crossing points will be provided.
The closure of the section of Moor Lane directly beneath the M6 Motorway viaduct at Witton will come into effect on Monday 27 October 2003 and is anticipated to last for 32 months.
Northbound traffic on Brookvale Road intending to use Moor Lane will be diverted along The Ridgeway to College Road.
Southbound traffic on College Road intending to use Moor Lane will be diverted along The Ridgeway to Brookvale Road. Access to the Brookvale Trading Estate will be from the Brookvale Road end of Moor Lane.
As Phase 1 except access to the Brookvale Road Trading Estate will be from the College Road end of Moor Lane.
