The Project
Resurfacing work will start on Saturday 24 June 2006. The work will involve resurfacing of lane one and some of lane two. This will bring lining up to standard on a 1.5 mile stretch of the northbound A1. The carriageway surface is affected by rutting, which the resurfacing work will resolve.
The work will only affect northbound traffic on the A1.
Work will be carried out on two consecutive evenings starting on Saturday 24 June at 20.00hrs, working through the night to 08.00hrs. The work will be completed by 06.00hrs on Monday 26 June 2006.
We are carrying out these works to improve safety by repairing a failing and uneven road surface.
Traffic Management
There will be a full closure on the A1 at Barrowby, Grantham.
A diversion will be in place along the A52 to Bingham/Saxondale. Traffic will then be diverted on to the A46 to rejoin the A1 at Newark (any traffic reaching Gonerby Moore roundabout will be diverted south along the A52 Westbound at Barrowby, and will then take the A46 to Newark).
