The Project
The scheme started at Balderton to the south of Newark in Nottinghamshire and ended just before the turn into Dry Doddington in Lincolnshire. The works carried out were to improve safety by removing rutting, mainly in Lane 1 and repair defects in Lane 2. The work extended for approximately 3 miles and only the southbound carriageway was affected.
Work was carried out on three consecutive evenings starting on Monday 31st July at 20.00 hrs continuing through the night to 06.00hrs. The works were completed by 06.00 hrs on Friday 4th August.
