The Project

Works on the A38 just south of Ripley, Derbyshire are to be carried out between Monday 4 September 2006 and Saturday 8 September 2006, working through the night from 2100 to 0600.

On the northbound carraigeway, reflective markings will be installed to highlight a bend in the road, which has been associated with loss-of-control accidents.

On the southbound carraigeway, there will be measures to highlight the presence of a layby by means of replacing some road markings, installing high visibility road studs, and new "Parking" signs.

The works are to start at the footbridge leading to Hilltop farm (between Ripley and Coxbench) and will continue for 2 km southwards.

Traffic Management

Traffic Restrictions will consist of a temporary 40 mph speed limit to be imposed; lane closures; and a 10 mph convoy working.

Please drive carefully through our roadworks.
