The Project
Work to refurbish 35 street lighting columns on the A52 / A453 Clifton Bridge complex in Nottingham was completed in June 2007.
The scheme involved replacing a system of pulleys and connectors and refurbishing the headframes supporting the lights on all 35 columns. The columns were also re-painted in order to maximise the use of traffic management.
Update
Unfortunately, there was fault with a small electrical component that was installed during these refurbishments, which needed to be replaced.
Work commenced on Sunday 1st June 2008 and was completed on Sunday 31st August 2008.
The work was funded by the manufacturer of the electrical components at no additional cost to the Highways Agency or tax payer.
In order to minimise disruption to roadusers, all of the work was carried out on Sundays between 6am and 5pm, when traffic flows are lighter than on weekdays.
