The Project

A £6m scheme to partially reconstruct and then resurface the A47 between Thorney Toll and Guyhirn, east of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.

The works were carried out because the existing carriageway was failing along the westbound edge where it has been widened twice in the past.  The edge required urgent reconstruction.  The works also included improvements to carriageway drainage, resurfacing of the full carriageway width and renewal of road markings and road studs.

Project Timetable

The works started on Monday 25 September 2006  and finished in March 2007.
