The Project
The scheme involves resurfacing the A1 southbound on-off sliproads at its junction with the A52 at Barrowby, Grantham, Lincolnshire. This will make the sliproads safer by improving the skid resistance of the road surface.
Work starts on Saturday 16th September 2006 at 20:00 hrs and is due to be completed by 08:00 hrs Sunday 17th September 2006.
Traffic Management
In order to carry out the work safely it wil be necessary to close the sliproads and divert traffic. The diversion routes are described below.
Diversion Routes
- A52 traffic wishing to join the southbound A1 will instead join the northbound A1, travel to Gonerby Moor (3km away), and turn round at the roundabout to join the southbound A1;
- Traffic on the souhtbound A1 wishing to leave at Barrowby will instead continue to the A607 Harlaxton junction (2km away), turn around, join the northbound A1, and leave at the A1 northbound exit sliproad at Barrowby.
