The signals at the junction with the A56 at Bowden Island roundabout were upgraded to the new 'intelligent' traffic lights system. The lights work by monitoring traffic flow and changing the sequence of the lights to allow for the best flow of traffic through the junction. As well as reducing delays for travellers in this area this should also improve safety.
A566 Improvements
Between January and March 2007 we have carried out a series of improvements on the A556 and connecting roads.
Our aims of reducing congestion, improving safety and making journey times more reliable are particularly important for this route, which carries over 50,000 vehicles per day and serves as the primary link between the M6 and M56.
