The Project
Safety improvement works are currently taking place on the A47 between the A47/A1064 Acle roundabout and the A47/A12 Vauxhall roundabout.
We will be resurfacing those sections of the Acle Straight that need it, as well as improving road markings, road signs, installing new road studs and putting in junction marker bollards.
Traffic Management
The work involves the closure of the A47 Acle Straight overnight between 8pm and 6am from Monday to Friday - there will be no closures over the weekend. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place.
The Acle Straight will be open to drivers in both directions during the day. There will be a 40mph speed limit and an overtaking ban in place during the day. These will be in place to ensure the safety of drivers. In addition all lay-bys on the A47 Acle Straight will be closed for the length of the works but they will be available in the event of an emergency.
Slight/moderate delays are expected during night-time periods due to the diversion of traffic. During the day slight delays may be experienced when the 40mph speed restriction is in operation.
