The existing lighting columns on this section of motorway are reaching the end of their life, and are being replaced.
The installation of the new lighting columns in the motorway verge has been completed. Overnight works will be taking place to remove the old lighting columns from the central reserve.
Traffic Management
Installation of the new lighting columns in the motorway verge has been completed. The main carriageway is now unaffected during daytime hours except for a 50mph speed restriction in the vicinity of Junction 17. To carry out removal of the old lighting columns in the central reservation, overnight lane closures will be taking place between Junction 16 and Junction 18 for approximately four weeks from Tuesday 10th of April.
