The Project
Work started on Monday 5th February 2007 to refurbish two bridges crossing the A1 at Long Bennington between Newark and Grantham and was completed on Saturday 31st March 2007.
The two neighbouring bridges carrying Costa Lane and Valley Lane over the A1 trunk road were resurfaced, drainage was improved and new waterproofing and joints were installed.
This work will improve the road surface and protect the bridges from deterioration, prolonging their lives with little disruption to traffic in the area.
