The Project

Works will take place at the Splitter Island in the middle of the A38/A516 Junction at Mickleover, Derby.

They will be carried out between Monday 5 February 2007 and Friday 23 Feb 2007.

Works will involve:

  1. Woodland improvements - thinning existing trees in order to let more light into the area, which will encourage a greater variety of plant life, which in turn will encourage a greater variety of animal life.
  2. Planting 450 new trees (alder, downy birch, black poplar and great willow), and 750 shrubs.
  3. Installing bird boxes.

Traffic Management

Traffic management will be restricted to 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Lane Two closure on the A516 slip on to the northbound A38, 9.30am to 3.30pm.
