The Project
We are pleased to inform you that the A303 Abbotts Ann Bridge Upgrade scheme is now complete.
The successfully completed maintenance scheme will ensure that the A303 Abbotts Ann Bridge will remain safe and serviceable for future road users, whilst providing a smoother, quieter road surface for users and local residents.
We will be scheduling the installation of a motorcycle friendly BikeGuard barrier system along this stretch of the A303 within the next few weeks. A secondary rail will be fitted to the existing safety barrier, which is designed to improve motorcycle safety and reduce the chance of death or serious injury if an accident occurs. The BikeGuard will take three days to be installed, with work taking place during day time hours.
